At AMI Fabrication, we focus on the highest achievable levels of efficiency, reliability, product control and safety.

Fabrication is the manufacturing process to design and build key components of a project before taking it to the field. AMI Mechanical’s fabrication shop utilizes a variety of value added processes under one roof including welding, cutting, forming and machining.

At AMI Fabrication, we work to identify key elements that are appropriate for prefabrication on all of our projects. We look for efficiencies in quality and schedule to ensure the best value possible. Our dedicated Fabrication Shop is staffed with full-time craftsman who are experts in their trade and follow a stringent quality process. Our team ensures what is drawn or modeled is built to specification.

From custom components, welded fabrication, and fully assembled systems, we utilize our CAD department to create shop drawings with precise measurements then move to the fabrication phase and finally the testing and installation of the final product.

From the very start of the design we consider 4 key items:

  1. Schedule and Optimization of prefabrication.
  2. Sheetmetal and Pipe Prefabrication opportunities.
  3. Integration and/ or management of other project subcontractors.
  4. Ownership and General Contractor desire and commitment to prefabrication.

We encourage innovative ideas from all team members as part of the optimization process, tracking prefabrication opportunities throughout the design process. This allows us to deliver the highest quality construction for the lowest cost.

Our fabrication capabilities include:

All pipe and structural welding is performed in strict accordance to the standards of the American Welding Society (AWS) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Each welder is individually tested to assure compliance and certification continuity is implemented every 6 months as well to satisfy AMI’s quality assurance (QA) quality control (QC) program.

All fabricated sheet metal / duct work meets the strict tolerances of SMACNA (Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association)

AMI structural fabrication follows the same strict requirements as our welded piping systems. All welders are tested in compliance to AWS and ASME standards. Items typically fabricated are structural hangers/stands, equipment frames, cooling tower structures, condenser frame farms etc.

AMI Fabrication can make any project completely pre-fabricated and mobile through our structural skid system. Mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, chilled/hot water pump skids, heat exchangers, and condenser rack farms are a few examples.  These systems are completely built in house and transported to the site with minimal field work.

All plumbing craft are factory certified and trained on soldering, brazing, pvc-cpvc assembly.  Our licensed journeymen, master plumbers and Medical Gas Certified staff are capable to meet any projects strict specifications.
